A Place In The Sun presenter Scarlette Douglas details producer’s plea after seaweed drama
A Place In The Sun host Scarlette Douglas has witnessed her fair share of backstage mishaps while filming the Channel 4 show. The property expert has now detailed the show chaos which ensued involving one of the producers.
The 32-year-old and the production crew had been filming in Sicily, Italy when disaster struck.
The small-screen star recalled how a producer named Chris pleaded for “help”, after getting caught up in what appeared to be quicksand.
Scarlette explained: “We were filming with a producer I get on really well with and while shooting the opening chat [for the show] there was loads of dry seaweed.

Scarlette commented: “The other camera guy goes and grabs the camera in the sand. We’re all laughing.
“And Chris asked, ‘Can you actually help me out?'”
Thankfully he was completely fine, and she continued: “He’s completely soaked in wet seaweed from the bottom and there are dried bits of seaweed everywhere else. It was absolutely hilarious.
“That is probably one of the best blunders and every time we see each other we laugh and remember the seaweed moment.”
