Akshay Kumar has already started shooting for Aanand L Rai’s Rakshabandhan and we hear that the next film he wants to start working on is Ram Setu. According to reports in E Times, Akshay Kumar will shoot for Ram Setu in September as the makers need open locations for it, which is not convenient to shoot during monsoons. E Times also reports that one of the schedules of the film was planned to be shot in Sri Lanka. However with the second wave of the pandemic worldwide, the quarantine-restrictions have surfaced back in several countries. Sri Lanka too has put a 15 day quarantine post entering the country. Hence the makers feel that it will be a waste of time for actors to have no work and wait for 15 days. They reportedly will now shoot at cheat locations which would stand-in for Sri Lanka.

Earlier this year, the mahurat shot of Ram Setu had taken place in Ayodhya with Akshay Kumar. Joining the superstar were his leading ladies of the film – Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt
Bharuccha. The film was set to be shot in Mumbai but Akshay tested COVID-19 positive and the shoot had to be stalled. The Mumbai set was dismantled as a lockdown was implemented in the city.
