Kandahar, Ali Fazal’s upcoming Hollywood film, is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year. In the USA, the film will debut on more than 2000 screens. As the movie prepares for its US premiere today, the actor posted pictures from the set on social media. In addition to Ali Fazal, who plays Kahil, the film also stars Gerard Butler.Ali’s first action movie, Kandahar, was directed by Ric Roman Waugh and primarily filmed in Saudi Arabia’s Al Ula region. The actor shared the images with the caption, “Behind some greatness is always a director orchestrating it all. Kandahar hits hard today. North America. I cannot thank you both enough. Ric for bringing me on board this journey. And Mr Gerard Butler, for all things notorious on and off camera… (and much more) and to the entire crew of Kandahar onsets and offsets. You people are the real heroes”.

In a few weeks, the movie is anticipated to be released in India. Early reviews of the movie praised Ali’s performance and labelled him the movie’s standout. About the development, Ali had before stated, “I am very excited with this development. A release that wide in the US alone is massive and being an action spy thriller, there is a wide audience for the film. A wide release coupled with a major weekend in the US, I’m hoping for this to be a banger. The film has all the elements to be a complete entertainer”.
