UPDATE: No Amazon PS5 restock has begun today, leaving gamers waiting for the next big stock drop. The good news is that there was a smaller GAME stock release today, which has now ended.

The rumoured Amazon PS5 stock drop for today could now happen at any time, with it possible that it has now been delayed until next week.

ORIGINAL: There’s a chance that even more PS5 stock will be released this week by another leading UK retailer.

The month had been pretty barren until a series of restocks at Argos, GAME and Very digital stores.

What made this more surprising is that each went live within an hour or two of each others, making it one of the best days to try and buy a next-gen console.

And a new report out this week suggests that more PS5 restocks are being planned.

According to PS5 Stock UK – a reliable stock tracker that shared the news on Game and Argos before they happened – Amazon UK could be the next retailer to offer PS5 stock this week.

The internet giant has been consistently linked with a restock this month but has so far released nothing new.

But that could all changes on Wednesday, September 15, with the PS5 Stock UK Twitter account sharing this message:

“Argos, Very & GAME are still in-stock! Holding off? Well, tomorrow (15/09) we may see a drop by Amazon.”

So far, this drop has not been confirmed by Amazon and that means this latest news should be taken with a pinch of salt and treated as a prediction for what might happen this week.

Sony is also launching a big update for its PS5 console range on September 15, telling gamers today:

“Tomorrow, we’re pleased to launch our second major PS5 system software update to all PS5 owners globally.

“The update includes a variety of enhancements to the PS5 console experience as well as 3D audio support for built-in TV speakers.

“It also features M.2 SSD storage expansion, which enables PS5 players to store and play PS5 games, PS4 games, and media apps directly from the expanded high-speed storage.

“We’re also expanding mobile features with support for PS Remote Play over mobile networks starting tomorrow, and the ability to view Share Screen broadcasts on PS App beginning next Thursday, Sept. 23.”

Knowing when a PS5 restock is happening can be vital, but it’s also worth knowing how each retailer handles its shipments.

And here are a few examples of how best to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from leading UK retailers:

ARGOS: The Argos website is notorious for crashing and being unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the mobile Argos app and keeping an eye on local store listings.

GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when completing a purchase. The latest PS5 stock happened on September 14.

AMAZON UK: Amazon UK runs better under strain but still comes with a few kinks worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. More stock is expected in September, possibly this week.
