Apple may have 'killed' this much-awaited product. Again. - Times of India

Now, as per the latest input, AirPower is “dead” at least for 2021. This was claimed by reliable Apple tipster Jon Prosser who suggests that all AirPower prototyping has been removed from the schedule of 2021.
Besides this, he also added, “Sources doubt that it’ll ever be picked back up again.”

Apple on its part had already announced in March 2019 that it is pulling the plug on this device. While announcing the cancellation of the Apple AirPower mat Apple said, “After much effort, we’ve concluded AirPower will not achieve our high standards and we have cancelled the project. We apologize to those customers who were looking forward to this launch. We continue to believe that the future is wireless and are committed to push the wireless experience forward.”
This year, Apple has launched a MagSafe charger for wireless charging of its devices, however unlike the AirPower mat it charges one device at a time, whether it is iPhone or AirPods. Further, it isn’t compatible with Apple Watch.
In India, the MagSafe charger that offers wireless charging up to 15W is priced at Rs 4,500 and can be purchased through Apple.com.
