ASUS Chromebook C223, C423, C523, and Flip C214 launched in India; prices start at Rs 17,999 |

Following Acer and Samsung’s footsteps, ASUS has launched a barrage of new Chromebooks for the Indian market. There are four models in total, namely the ASUS Chromebook C223, Flip C214, C423, and C523. They all are, for the most part, similarly specced with a few minor hardware changes here and there. Except for the Chromebook C223, all other models can be configured with touchscreens. Chromebooks are, in essence, meant for students and users looking for a barebones computing experience. Let’s take a look at what the ASUS Chromebook C223, Flip C214, C423, and C523 have in store for us.

ASUS Chromebook C223 — Rs 17,999

Starting with the entry-level ASUS Chromebook C223, we get an 11.6-inch HD (1,336 x 768 pixels) screen with a peak brightness of 200 nits. As mentioned earlier, it is the only model that doesn’t ship with a touch-enabled panel. Under the hood, there’s an Intel Celeron N3350 processor, coupled with 4GB of 2,400MT/s LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, which can be further expanded via a micro SD card. Input options include one USB Type-A port, two USB Type-C ports, and a 3.5mm combo audio jack. 802.11 b/g/b Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 are supported, too. It weighs about 1kg and is available in only one colour variant, Grey. Lastly, the notebook draws power from a 38Wh battery. ASUS Chromebook C223 price in India is set at Rs 17,999. It will be available for purchase via Flipkart and the official ASUS website.

ASUS Chromebook C423 — Rs 19,999

Moving on to the slightly better-specced ASUS Chromebook C423, we get two screen options, a touch-enabled 14-inch HD screen (1,336 x 768 pixels) with 60Hz refresh rate, 200 nits peak brightnesS and a non-touch-enabled version with the same specs. It reuses the same Intel Celeron N3350 processor but bumps up the storage from 32GB to 64GB while keeping the same 4GB of RAM. Everything else is pretty much identical across the board, including the number of USB Type-A ports (1), Type-C ports (2), Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi support, and the 38Wh battery. The ASUS Chromebook C423 variant with no touchscreen costs Rs 19,999, whereas the one with the touchscreen costs Rs 23,999. It, too, can be bought via Flipkart and ASUS’ official website.

ASUS Chromebook C523 — Rs 20,999

The ASUS Chromebook C523, for all intents and purposes, is just a rebadged C223 and C423 with a larger screen. Its 15.6-inch FHD (1,920 x 1,080) screen is also available in both touch and non-touch versions. The extra screen real estate should come in handy and is definitely worth the extra cost. Its processor, RAM, USB port selection, battery, and everything else is identical to that of the Chromebook C423 and C223. Coming to price, the ASUS Chromebook C523 starts at Rs 20,999 for the non-touchscreen variant. The touch-enabled version will set you back by Rs 24,999. You can buy it from here.

ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 — 23,999

The ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 is the only device of the lot that packs slightly different hardware. Although its screen size is restricted to a paltry 11.6 inches, (1,336 x 768 pixels resolution, 250 nits peak brightness), it ships with a significantly better 5MP rear camera and a 720p front camera. ASUS offers the Chromebook Flip X214 only with a touch screen configuration.

Under the hood, the ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 packs an Intel Celeron N4020 processor along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which can be expanded further via a micro SD card. It ships with a slightly more potent 50Wh battery and a 45W power adaptor. Both of its two USB Type-C ports can output display to an external device and charge the laptop. The other USB Type-A port is Gen 3.1 and supports up to 5Gbps throughput. The ASUS Chromebook Flip C214 price in India is set at Rs 23,999. Buy it here.
