Avatar 2: Guillermo del Toro calls James Cameron’s film a staggering achievement

Avatar: The Way of Water, the highly-anticipated sequel to Avatar (2009) is set to release next month. The film has made headlines for its ambitious scale and now, it looks like it has Guillermo del Toro’s stamp of approval.

Oscar-winning director Guillermo del Toro has watched Avatar 2 and he’s impressed. He took to Instagram to share what looks like the first reaction to the film. Responding to producer Jon Landau’s announcement about the completion of the film’s final mix and picture mastering, the director Tweeted, “A staggering achievement- AVATAR TWOW is chock full of majestic Vistas and emotions at an epic, epic scale. A master at the peak of his powers…”

Guillermo del Toro is best known for acclaimed films like The Shape of Water, Pan’s Labyrinth and Nightmare Alley. His next is an adaptation of Pinocchio.

Avatar: The Way of Water is already making waves ahead of its release. The film starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Kate Winslet, Vin Diesel and others takes viewers back to Pandora. The trailers tease stunning visuals and a dramatic storyline that’s all about family.
