Battlegrounds Mobile India iOS Release Date in the Works

While Battlegrounds Mobile India is up for pre-registration on Android via Google Play, it seems that Krafton won’t be leaving iOS players behind. According to a support page spotted on the official Battlegrounds Mobile India website, Krafton acknowledges the need to bring the game to iPad and iPhone.

”We will keep our fans informed on further developments,” reads the page. “New updates will be released on our official website and social networks, so please stay tuned for further news.”

Despite what seems like a mistranslated headline on the page (“Does Krafton have a release planning for IOS version?”) an iOS release does seem likely.

Sources familiar with the company’s plans tell IGN India that an iOS version is crucial. Reason being: while a bulk of Battlegrounds Mobile India’s userbase is expected on Android, the iOS version tends to bring in paying players.

If you’re playing it on Android though, you can pre-register right away. Keep in mind you’ll need an Android device with 5.1.1 or above and at least 2GB RAM. Also note that Krafton hasn’t shared any details about the download size of Battlegrounds Mobile India yet.

Similar to PUBG Mobile, Battlegrounds Mobile India will feature several maps on diverse terrains and multiple game modes. The game is built on Unreal Engine 4 which incidentally also powers PUBG Mobile.

Battlegrounds Mobile India will get frequent content updates and in-game events, outfits, and features that are exclusive to Indian players, similar to the China-only version of the game. The game will also have its own esports ecosystem with various tournaments and leagues, also in line with its China-exclusive release.
