Ben Shephard’s wife steps in to deliver food to Kate Garraway amid husband’s health battle
Ben Shephard, 45, has been doing all he can to support Kate Garraway, 53, through her husband’s health ordeal and now his wife Annie has also been on hand to help. Kate’s 53-year-old husband Derek Draper remains in hospital after being admitted to hospital with coronavirus in March.
In a joint interview, Ben discussed his Good Morning Britain co-star’s ordeal as Kate revealed his wife Annie had brought over a food parcel.
The presenter has two children; Darcey, 14, and Billy, 11, with her long-term spouse.
She recently revealed she is dreading the Christmas period for the first time without her husband at home.
Elaborating on this, she told OK! Magazine: “Essentially, like for everyone, it is very uncertain – and there are many other religions that have had festivals this year that have had to go without their get-togethers already.

“The crux of it is that Christmas for lots of people is their memory of childhood. It’s their memory of being with their parents and wanting to feel that again and wanting to recreate that feeling for their children.”
Ben recently said he would be round Kate’s home “in a heartbeat” if he could during the pandemic.
Kate then revealed: “Annie did come round with a food parcel the other day and it was really delicious.
“Darcey was like, ‘When is Annie coming again?’”
While he is now coronavirus-free, he remains in hospital battling his health.
Kate previously said doctors had told her they are unsure if or when Derek will recover.
For now, she is remaining hopeful about the future and has been focusing on work and her children.
Back in October, Kate praised the volunteers who trialled the coronavirus vaccine.
