Bradley Walsh: The Chase host opens up on 'loneliness' as he admits lockdown got 'tricky'

Bradley Walsh, who is gearing up for the Doctor Who special, spoke candidly about the impact of lockdown on his home life. The Chase host revealed that he often struggles to be indoors.

The 60-year-old, who is married to his wife Donna Derby, detailed the issues he struggled with as he was unable to move around freely.

The former Coronation Street actor admitted he is not the type to spend copious amounts of time at home watching reruns on television.

Bradley explained that he missed working after most production companies were forced to halt filming due to the coronavirus pandemic.

His comments come as the ITV star is set to appear in the latest Doctor Who special.

“And then everybody back to ours for drinks and a sing-song! I love it, I really do.”

He added to Radio Times Christmas edition: “We haven’t made plans this year, but at least everyone’s in the same boat.”

Bradley and his other half Donna have been married for 22 years after the happy couple tied the knot in 1997.

Often they put on a romantic display on the red carpet for all eyes to see and at home they have raised their son Barney.

Elsewhere, Bradley has revealed that viewers are in for a treat with the new series of Doctor Who.

It comes as the actor and co-star Tosin Cole confirmed their departure from the popular sci-fi series.

The duo, who play Graham O’Brien and his step-grandson Ryan Sinclair, will say goodbye to The Doctor (Jodie Whittaker) and their friend Yasmin Khan (Mandip Gill) in the New Year’s Day 2021 special ‘Revolution of the Daleks’.

Doctor Who returns to BBC One on News Years Day.
