The Carabao Cup will have a new champion for the first time since 2016 this year after Manchester City were knocked out by West Ham. Liverpool and Chelsea are now seen as the favourites to lift the trophy, with the final scheduled for February 27.
Before that, both clubs will have to navigate through the quarter finals, with some potentially tricky draws on the cards.
The Hammers have beaten both Manchester clubs in the competition so far, while Tottenham, Arsenal and Leicester are all capable on their day.
Brentford have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season and will harbour hopes of a day at Wembley.
And then there’s Sunderland who are the only non-Premier League side left in the competition having beaten Port Vale, Blackpool, Wigan and QPR.
Carabao Cup draw LIVE
The delay in the draw was almost inevitable to get more viewers tuning in to watch Soccer AM, for which I’ve fallen in to that trip (More out of fear of missing the actual draw).
At least Jimmy Bullard is having fun.

10.45pm: Soccer AM is now live but in good sporting fashion, it looks as though they’re going to make us wait for the best bit.
10.30am: Good morning and welcome to this strange time of the week for the Carabao Cup draw. Usually, the draw would have already been made and all focus would have been on the weekend matches.
But this time around the draw was postponed so that Soccer AM could host the draw live on Saturday. Hosts Jimmy Bullard and John Fendley will be joined by Leyton Orient fan Danny Mays.
Soccer AM is just starting and we’ll soon find out exactly when the draw will be made. Stay tuned…
