Carer's Allowance: Is Carer's Allowance means-tested? How to claim

People who are subject to immigration control may not be able to claim Carer’s Allowance.
Someone has to spend at least 35 hours a week caring to receive the benefit, but during the pandemic caring support does not have to be given in person.
People providing care remotely, such as over the telephone or online, can qualify for Carer’s Allowance if the claimant or the person being cared for is affected by coronavirus.
Individuals cannot get the benefit if they are in full-time education or are studying for 21 hours a week or more.
