Chelsea boss Frank Lampard provides Christian Pulisic injury update ahead of Rennes clash

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has revealed that Christian Pulisic is suffering from a “very minor injury to his hamstring”, after the American missed Saturday’s 3-0 win over Burnley. Pulisic was originally named in the starting XI but was replaced by Timo Werner when he suffered the hamstring injury in the warm-up.

Lampard was originally optimistic that the problem was not that serious, saying: “He’s played three games, we’ve tried to manage him in the week and it’s a small feeling in his hamstring so we’ll have to see how he is over the next 24 hours.

“It’s a minor feeling that he had but definitely not right to go into 90 minutes of a game with that.

“Hopefully it’s short term, we’re talking weeks.”

Now, the Blues boss has offered a positive update on the forward, revealing Pulisic is already training outside but will miss their upcoming Champions League clash with Rennes.
