Chelsea player ratings vs Sevilla: Olivier Giroud a superb 10 as Blues win impressively

Chelsea went top of their Champions League group with a 4-0 win over Sevilla, thanks to four goals from veteran forward Olivier Giroud. The 34-year-old gave the Blues the lead after just seven minutes with a smart finish when he was played in by Kai Havertz and added a second with a calm chip over the debuting goalkeeper, Alfonso Pastor. He completed a perfect hat-trick with a header in the 74th minute, before dispatching a late penalty.

Chelsea player ratings vs Sevilla – Champions League

Edouard Mendy – 7

Called into action on two occasions and ensured Chelsea kept a clean sheet. Continued his impressive start to life at Stamford Bridge.

Cesar Azpilicueta – 7

Having lost his regular spot in the starting XI to Reece James in Chelsea’s last four league games, the captain contributed effectively both in attack and defence.

Antonio Rudiger – 7

As rumours swirl that Rudiger could be on his way out of the club in January, his performance will have impressed any potential suitors as the German looked good defensively and in possession.
