Chelsea star Kai Havertz ‘doesn’t look interested’ with second Mesut Ozil comparison made

“If you spend the amount of money they did on him, you want more than a utility player, so I’m surprised he’s played so many positions.

“For me he’s a number ten and would work best slipping balls through for Timo Werner, who looks lost on the wing. He will come good in time.”

It’s the second time this week that Havertz has been compared to Ozil, who has been frozen out at Arsenal this season.

The World Cup winner was left out of the Gunners’ Premier League and Europa League squads and looks destined to leave Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the campaign.

“I look at Kai Havertz, and I think sooner rather than later – unless something special happens from him – he is going to get an unwanted tag of being the new Mesut Ozil,” talkSPORT presenter Adrian Durham said.

“It will be because he’s German, obviously, but also because of how he plays and where he plays, and if he isn’t impacting games more than he is now, he’s going to have a real problem shaking that tag.”
