Chelsea star Kai Havertz tests positive for coronavirus before Rennes Champions League tie

Chelsea star Kai Havertz has tested positive for Covid-19, Frank Lampard has confirmed.

Havertz will play no part in the Blues’ Champions League tie against Rennes.

The German playmaker, who has been impressive in recent weeks, tested positive for coronavirus prior to the game, it has been announced.

He will now enter into a period of self-isolation before being re-tested.

There is no word on whether Havertz is showing any symptoms.
