What is a Cold Weather Payment?
A Cold Weather Payment is a monetary amount given to help with fuel costs during periods of very cold weather.
The period of cold weather must cover seven consecutive days, between November 1 and March 31, when the average temperature must be zero degrees Celsius or below.
The payment is available to those in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
