Covid update: Survivor shares permanent long-term COVID-19 complications

There is a broad spectrum of possible COVID-19 effects and Mal Martin found himself on the extreme end. He spent 61 days on a ventilator and a total of 94 days in hospital due to COVID-19 complications. Speaking on GMB this morning, Mal Martin, who was given a zero chance of survival, revealed the permanent damage COVID-19 has inflicted on the body. Mal said: “My kidney’s not functioning well. My hands have had amputations on fingers. I have nerve damage in legs and lost eyesight in right eye that will never get back.”
