Dame Helen Mirren: I've earned this face - and won't be undergoing plastic surgery

The actress laughs: “I’m old! And I look it. And that’s just fine. People talk about ageing gracefully and I don’t even know what that means. “We seem to have got to a point where it means not having plastic surgery, though I should have thought there’d be more to it than that, wouldn’t there? “To me it’s more about accepting who you are and what you are and going with it.
“Obviously I try to look as nice as I can. And yes, if I could, of course I’d love to look 20 years younger, but I just don’t and I never will. I’m not staying young, nobody does.”
Dame Helen also tells December’s Candis magazine she now appreciates time is not on her side but adds: “I’m still very good at wasting it, which is a terrible thing to do at my age.”
The Oscar-winning star also speaks proudly of paying her own way after coming from relative poverty.
