Dan Walker: BBC Breakfast star speaks out after fan questions ‘change’ on show ‘No idea’

Dan Walker, 43, has admitted he has “no idea” why he read out the time to viewers in a slightly different way to how he normally does on BBC Breakfast today. The presenter, who hosts the show with Louise Minchin, spoke out after the fan wondered why he made the change and said “41 and 30 minutes past six instead of the usual 6.41 and 6.30”.

The viewer wrote on social media: “Intrigued with the change of time telling @mrdanwalker on @BBCBreakfast ‘41 and 30 minutes past 6’ instead of the usual 6.41 and 6.30?”

Dan spotted the fan’s query on Twitter and took the opportunity to address the situation in view of his 669,000 followers.

The star admitted in response that he hadn’t noticed the difference, as he was “trying to get the brain in gear”.

Dan quipped alongside a laughing face emoji: “No idea.

The Twitter user was making reference to a chapter in the book, where Dan surprised Terrence, 78, with a festive tree and a carol performance after he’d spent 20 Christmases alone.

The BBC Breakfast host requested that the person in question leave a review on his book – to which they agreed – before he admitted his praise had made him emotional.
