Is Odell Beckham Jr. playing Week 3?

UPDATE: OBJ looks like he’ll be all set to go on Sunday against the Bears. According to ESPN’s Dan Graziano, the Browns are expecting him to be able to make his season debut.

He practiced in full Wednesday, and his arrival couldn’t come at a better time with Jarvis Landry (knee) already being ruled out for a couple of weeks. All signs point toward Beckham making his return for the first time since his ACL tear a season ago.

However, we must temper expectations for his first game action in nearly a year. With Landry out, the Bears will surely have to hone in on Beckham. For Week 3, he’s our WR40 in standard and PPR leagues. We know his upside is much higher, but we’re playing it safe. If you’re a risk-taker, roll the dice here and insert him in your lineups.

Diontae Johnson injury update

UPDATE: Johnson missed practice on Thursday and is reportedly trending toward to being more “doubtful” than “questionable” according to local media reports.

Johnson (knee) did not practice Wednesday, and he’ll likely carry a “questionable” designation into Week 3. He’s always a must-start if healthy, especially in PPR leagues. However, if he’s out, JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool should see even more targets their way. All three have been heavily targeted in a pass-happy offense, so they should be in your lineups if Johnson is out against a bad Bengals’ defense. Beyond that, James Washington draws flex consideration in this case, and TEs Pat Freiermuth and Eric Ebron could see more targets (but not be worth starting in most leagues).

For now, we ranked Johnson as if he’s going to be active. He’s our WR23 in PPR and WR25 in standard leagues.

Amari Cooper injury update

UPDATE: Cooper did not practice on Thursday, which is obviously never a good sign. The good news is he’ll have an extra day since the Cowboys don’t play until Monday, so we’ll have to monitor this moving foward.

Cooper suffered a rib injury late in his Week 2 game but was able to walk off under his own power. Jerry Jones said he’s “hopeful’ Cooper can play in Week 3, and Cooper seems to be trending toward being available. It helps that Cooper doesn’t play until Monday night, so he’ll have an extra day to heal up. He’s a must-start if he’s active, but make sure to put him in your flex spot. That way, if he’s ruled inactive after Sunday, you have the flexibility to play a running back or wide receiver (or tight end if you’re desperate enough). If your team has three solid RBs that you know you want to start (one in the flex spot), go grab Cedrick Wilson, Jalen Reagor, or Quez Watkins and sub one in at WR if needed.

For Week 3, Cooper is our WR21 in standard and WR19 in PPR. The Eagles’ defense looks quite impressive through two weeks, so this could be a game like Dallas had against the Chargers — low scoring — or all an-out shootout. That said, he has boom-or-bust potential.
