Farhan Akhtar talks about the documentary based on Salim-Javed

Last month it was announced that Salman Khan, Farhan Akhtar and Zoya Akhtar teamed up to document the life of their respective fathers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar – whose names used to be taken in one breath as Salim-Javed. They were the first superstar writers of the film industry and gave hits after hits in the ’70s.

The documentary will be for an OTT platform and Salman, Farhan and Zoya are all excited about it. It is said that the friendship between Salim-Javed grew over time as their love for writing was on similar lines.

Today, speaking about the same, Farhan Akhtar spoke to a leading daily and said, “The narrative is about two people who came to the film industry from different backgrounds, how they got together and created this unbelievable brand of star writers that the film industry has never been able to replicate after they decided not to work together. It talks about what made them an incredible force in (Hindi cinema).”
