Farhan Akhtar’s fitness transformation for Toofaan will shock you

While Farhan Akhtar’s latest film, Toofaan, has opened to mixed reviews, the actor is definitely earning praise for his physique in the film and for the obvious effort he has put in to make himself look like a boxer. Today, the actor shared an image of his fitness journey for the movie. At the start of the film, Akhtar’s character is super fit but due to certain reasons, he is banned from boxing for five years. During the course of these five years, he naturally loses his fit physique but soon comes back even stronger. For the role, he gained 15 kilos and then had to lose 10 kilos.

“The many shapes and sizes of Ajju aka Aziz aka Toofaan. What a ride. 18 months of relentless work but worth every drop of sweat, every sore muscle and every pound gained and lost,” Farhan wrote in the caption of his post.

For Toofaan, Farhan had come together with Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra again. “Over time, I have come to learn that either you are an actor or not an actor. I have always seen an actor in Farhan and I did offer him a role in Rang De Basanti, nearly 16 years ago. At that time he was amused and it didn’t occur to him that he will be acting one day, at least he didn’t share, and said, “No, I have not thought about that”. He read the script and even responded to it, not as an actor but as a friend. So, for me, there is an actor in him. But how deep can we dive into him and get out what we want? I think he is as deep as an ocean and the deeper you go, you find more depth. So it is up to the challenge we throw at him and I am sure he relishes challenges. The more difficult the part, the better he performs,” the filmmaker had told ETimes about Farhan as an actor.
