Five words EVERY Sky Q user should shout into their remote tonight

Sky Q is constantly bringing new voice commands to its Voice Remote, which lets viewers name shows, movies, actors and directors to launch a search better. Better yet, you can even quote from your favourite film to pinpoint that title on Sky Cinema, Sky Store, Netflix or Disney+. For example, barking “show me the money!” into your remote will load the listing for Jerry Maguire.

However, with the latest addition to the Sky Q Voice Remote, the satellite broadcaster has taken a very different approach. For the first time, Sky has asked its customers to help choose the next command by voting on the next voice command to be added to its set-top box.

With a poll launched on social media, Sky offered customers a choice between “Here we go”, “Southgate you’re the one”, “God Save Our Gracious Queen”, and “So good, so good”. With hundreds of votes counted, the winner was named as “Southgate you’re the one”.

Perhaps that’s unsurprising given how much England fans have rallied around the Atomic Kitten hit from 2000. The girl group re-released the song – complete with the updated lyrics about the England manager and his ability to turn us all on – this week ahead of the semi-final clash.

Picking up your Sky Q Voice Remote and saying those magic five words will send you to the dedicated Euros’ voice destination page. This brings together everything that a Euros 2020 fan could want in a single menu – from the latest headlines about the tournament, highlights from the games, or a link to jump into the latest episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast for exclusive insights, there’s plenty to love.

If you don’t have a Sky Q Voice Remote, Sky regularly runs promotions to get your hands on one for free.

“Southgate you’re the one” joins the three existing voice commands to launch the Euros 2020 hub on Sky Q – “Goal”, “It’s Coming Home” or “Come on England”.

Sky Q starts from £25 a month. The flagship set-top box is not only capable of tuning into Ultra HD 4K sports broadcasts, but can stream movies and shows in the ultra-crisp quality too. Sky Q lets viewers record six shows simultaneously while watching a seventh as it is broadcast live. There’s also support for HDR and dozens of popular apps, from at-home fitness like Hiit and Peloton, to music videos, cooking tutorials, and streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+.

And with rumours that Apple TV+, one of the biggest services missing in action from the current line-up, could be coming soon to the clever telly box, Sky Q could soon become a truly one-stop-shop for all of your bingeing, from Love Island to Ted Lasso.
