Flipkart Reportedly Cancelling PS5 Restock Orders Mid-Shipment

While many have started receiving PS5 consoles they had ordered during the May 27 restock, some Flipkart customers have been facing issues. Several readers have reached out to us with evidence of their PS5 orders getting cancelled as recently as June 9.

Two readers have shared tracking information for their PS5 order, which shows the orders getting cancelled in the middle of being shipped. Other readers have started complaining about their consoles not getting shipped after almost an entire month. Others still have been unable to get in touch with Flipkart’s customer service.

Recently, Flipkart was cancelling May 17 PS5 restock orders as recently as just last week. Close to 20 customers reached out to IGN India about the issue, which happened despite Flipkart’s own statement that PS5 orders wouldn’t be cancelled. The cancellations also pinned the blame on customers, with the order status showing that it was cancelled by the customer.

In its statement, however, Flipkart did go on to mention that customers should expect a few delays in the shipment of their consoles, owing to restrictions and lockdown because of the ongoing pandemic. However after reports of cancellations, multiple requests for comment from the company have gone unanswered.

With the next batch of PS5 restock pre-orders reportedly set to go live later this week, we decided to look at previous booking experiences and figure out which retailers gave customers the best and worst experiences.

Going by these incidents, Amazon seems to have been the least painless experience for customers, while retailers Prepaidgamercard and Flipkart have offered the most problems and resistance to customers trying to spend their money.
