Savings credit is an extra payment usually only issued to those who reached state pension age before April 6 2016.
These additional payments will only be awarded to those who have saved some money towards their retirement, with an obvious example being private pensions.
No matter what kind(s) of pension credit a person gets, they will not need to pay tax on the payments.
