Furlough warning: Vital claim deadline today for those who use the scheme - act now

Employers will, however, be required to cover employer National Insurance contributions and employer pension contributions as these cannot be claimed for. 

It is worth noting, though, that employees are unable to claim for themselves under the furlough scheme.

Instead, they should check if their employer is using the scheme, and whether they have signed up the relevant staff. 

The next important deadline to bear in mind when it comes to furlough is January 14, 2021.
