George Russell details Mercedes and Williams confusion ahead of Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

George Russell has uploaded a picture on social media wearing his Mercedes shirt before admitting he still doesn’t know who he will race for this weekend in Abu Dhabi. The 2020 season is concluded in the Middle East on Sunday in the 19th and final race of the campaign.
Russell is looking to build on his impressive debut at the Sakhir GP last weekend when he came agonisingly close to a maiden victory.
It was a performance that highlighted his future credentials and increased the pressure on Toto Wolff to partner him with Lewis Hamilton, after he stepped in to replace the seven-time world champion.
Hamilton is hoping to make his return to action this weekend and has now completed his 10-day period of isolation.
However, there has been no clarification as of yet whether the 35-year-old will be able to get back behind the wheel in the United Arab Emirates.

Hamilton will have to provide a negative test before being allowed to travel to Abu Dhabi, after contracting coronavirus while on holiday in Dubai.
He will then face further testing upon arrival and will have to provide several negative samples before being allowed to take part in practise and qualifying.
Mercedes CEO Toto Wolff said earlier this week that Hamilton was on course to return, if all goes to plan.
“I think he is on the right track,” Wolff said. “If the doctors’ prognosis is correct, he could manage to deliver a negative test on Thursday or Friday.”
On Tuesday, Hamilton outlined his desire to recover in time to race after completing his first workout since the beginning of quarantine.
“I know I’ve not been in touch this past week but it’s definitely been one of the hardest weeks that I’ve had for some time,” he said on Instagram.
“I’ve just been focusing on recovering and trying to get back in shape so I can get back in the car and race in Abu Dhabi.
“I woke up today feeling great and got my first workout in so I just wanted to send you guys a message of positivity, let you know I’m OK and thank every single one of you for sending me the amazing messages and videos. I really, really appreciate it. I hope that I can get back in the car soon.”
