How to watch 'Space Jam: A New Legacy' online: Release time, price to stream LeBron James' movie on HBO Max

It’s been 25 years since the original “Space Jam” movie was released, mixing the magic of Michael Jordan’s superstardom in the NBA with classic “Looney Tunes” characters, led by Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and Porky Pig. Who better than LeBron James — Jordan’s biggest rival in the NBA GOAT debate — to star in the long-awaited sequel “Space Jam: A New Legacy” to celebrate the silver anniversary of the basketball fantasy film?

Once again, the movie will use a unique blend of live action and animation to tell the story of another epic battle on the court. Like Mike, King James will play a fictional character based on himself. The plot is simple — James, winner of four NBA championships, plays in the game of his life to rescue his son from the clutches of an artificial intelligence program.

While Jordan didn’t want to return to the world of Space Jam, James had been working to get the standalone follow-up to the big and small screens since 2014. For those nostalgic for the old crossover fun of the first film, “A New Legacy” will be a welcome summer blockbuster.

Here’s what you need to know so you can watch the second Space Jam as soon as it comes out:
