Infinix 260W Thunder Charge launch date, other details

In an image, the charger is positioned next to a smartphone that resembles the Infinix Zero Ultra, which debuted with 180W charging capability. According to the report, the new 260W charging system would have a four-way 100W charge pump and an AHB (Advanced High-Performance Bus) circuit architecture with safe charging control. As stated above, the company might showcase the tech on March 9th and launch it on a smartphone later this year. Stay tuned to find out more.

The report also mentions that the smartphone brand is working on a 100W wireless charging system. This one will have a custom-coil design with enhanced peak power charging time, decreased internal resistance, and better charging efficiency.

Fast charging solutions in smartphones

Several smartphone brands are trying to upgrade their fast-changing technology. Last year, Xiaomi unveiled the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition with 210W fast charging support that claimed to charge the smartphone in just 9 minutes fully. However, a report indicated that the smartphone failed to meet the 210W claimed charge speed in a real-world test. Keeping that aside, a couple of days ago, the Chinese smartphone maker showcased its 300W fast charging solution in China. The company modified the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ with an in-built 4,100mAh battery to showcase the 300W fast charging technology. The report said the smartphone was charged 50 per cent in just 2 minutes and 11 seconds.

Xiaomi’s 300W fast charging solution came after its competitor Realme unveiled its 240W charging technology in January this year. Realme claims to have achieved 98.5 per cent charging conversion efficiency using a three-way 100W charge pump parallel design, a 20V 12A input, and a 10V 24A output. Last month, the company launched the Realme GT 3, which comes with this charging technology. Previously, smartphone brand OPPO showcased its 240W charging technology and claimed it could charge a 4,500mAh battery in under 10 minutes.
