James Jordan: Strictly pro claims Bill Bailey's become 'meh' as BBC show 'takes its toll'
James Jordan has long been a fan of Bill Bailey on Strictly Come Dancing 2020. However, the professional dancer claims the funny man has “just been a bit meh” in recent weeks.
The 42-year-old was backing the comedian, 55, to lift the Glitterball with Oti Mabuse this evening, but he is now rooting for his rival Maisie Smith.
Bill remains favourite to triumph over the EastEnders actress, 19, HRVY, 21, and Jamie Laing, 32.
James suggested Bill’s “gone off the boil”, suggesting it could be down to his age.
The outspoken pro said he himself understood, saying he was “still recovering” after winning Dancing On Ice last year.

“At the beginning I was rooting for Bill,” he exclusively told Ladbrokes. “I felt that in the first four weeks I fancied him to win.
“Not only was he brilliantly entertaining and he shocked us all with how good he was, but because of his age he deserved more credit because he’s competing with people that are less than half his age.”
James continued: “It does make a massive difference, and in my opinion he was smashing it.
“But in the last three or four weeks he’s just been a bit meh. It’s difficult to say why he’s gone off the boil.”
He went on: “It could be that because he’s an older guy, it’s maybe taken its toll a bit.
“I couldn’t imagine putting my body through the demands of Strictly again, and Bill’s got about 10 years on me.”
The father-of-one added: “I know I did Dancing On Ice but it absolutely exhausted me and I’m still recovering from it now!
“As you get older it gets more difficult to sustain that level of training.”
James danced for the final time on Strictly back in 2013, leaving in 14th place with Vanessa Feltz.
His wife of 17 years Ola Jordan left two years later, her final partner being Iwan Thomas.
Despite his comments, Bill leads the betting with 8/11, followed HRVY (7/4), Maisie (6/1) and Jamie (50/1).
Strictly Come Dancing 2020 concludes tonight at 6pm on BBC One.
