James Martin talks frightening move on Strictly as he suggests 2020 stars have it easier

Saturday Morning host James Martin, 48, competed in BBC show Strictly Come Dancing back in 2005, with the show’s former professional dancer Camilla Dallerup. This year, the show’s usual live audience was scrapped due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Speaking of the change to the 2020 series, James said it is “probably easier” for this year’s contestants to perform without a potential distraction from the crowd.
He explained: “To be honest with you, the audience frightened me anyway.
“It’s probably easier without the audience. I remember standing at the top of the staircase, Bruce [Forsyth] would go down.
“You’d be stood there in a line going, ‘Oh my god, have you heard everybody?’”
