Jisshu Sengupta REVEALS why he's very proud of Sadak 2; says, 'I have found a father figure in Mahesh Bhatt' [Exclusive] | Bollywood Life
Jisshu Sengupta, who’s become quite a pro at playing roles that leave an indelible mark, regardless of their length, and be it Bengali, Hindi or South cinema, will soon be seen alongside Bhumi Pednekar in Durgamati, incidentally, a remake of Telugu movie Bhaagamathie, starring Anushka Shetty. While speaking to the actor about Durgamati in an exclusive interview, we also touched upon his other recent Bollywood project, the much derided Sadak 2, starring Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt and Aditya Roy Kapur, and directed by Mahesh Bhatt, but contrary to what we’d expected, Jisshu was all praise for the film, his performance, and Bhatt saab, while also adding a word about the backlash that had accompanied the release. Opening up on why he has no regrets about doing Sadak 2, Jisshu Sengupta said, “Not at all, I’m very proud of being a part of that film. I guess that is one of the finest roles in Hindi films as far as I’ve done. In fact, I have found a father figure in Mahesh Bhatt and he has really handheld me throughout the film.” Commenting on the unprecedented backlash the film had received both prior to and after release, and how much of it all was unwarranted or just unfair, the actor added, “You know, It’s a democratic country and people have their own views, but you don’t need to have the same views, right? And whatever people wanted to say, they’ve said it, and it’s their views, not mine. So, it’s okay, I guess, as long as you can take it.” Also Read – Sadak 2 movie review: Sanjay Dutt and Jisshu Sengupta are the only bright spots in this snoozefest of a film
