Joan Collins shuts down Meghan Markle after Mariah Carey ‘diva’ swipe

Meghan Markle, 41, was reportedly left “shocked” when Mariah Carey claimed she gave the world “diva moments” at times during an interview on the former’s podcast, Archetypes. After the comment caused a stir, the singer later clarified she meant it in an empowering way.
Discussing the podcast interview on Good Morning Britain today, Susanna Reid told guest Dame Joan Collins that Meghan had “taken exception to being called a diva by Mariah Carey”.
The actress replied stating that she believes being called a diva was “rather nice now and then”.
Joan responded: “Oh really? I think it’s rather nice to be called a diva, now and again. I mean, it’s supposed to be a compliment.”
Following her appearance on the show, Susanna shared a picture of her and Joan on her Instagram page and branded the pair “divas”.

The host and actress were pictured smiling for the snap during an off-camera moment in the studio.
In view of her 605,000 followers, she wrote: “DIVAS! So wonderful to have @joancollinsdbe to sparkle up our Monday @gmb.”
Meanwhile, Mariah first made the comment in the second episode of Meghan’s Spotify podcast Archetypes last week.
At the time, Prince Harry’s wife replied: “I do? What kind of diva moments do I give you?”
On Friday, Mariah addressed the comment on her social media page.
She commented: “Really enjoyed talking to Duchess and Diva Meghan Markle about ‘The Duality of Diva’.
“Yes! I called her a diva, in the most fabulous, gorgeous, and empowering meaning of the word!!!”
Meghan later added that she believes Mariah must’ve felt her “nervous laughter” as she swiftly jumped in to clarify what she meant.
