Joe Swash opens up on emotional change at home for Stacey Solomon: ‘It was sad for her'

Joe Swash, 38, has admitted the house he shares with his girlfriend Stacey Solomon, 31, felt “weird” after her sons Zachary, 12, and Leighton, eight, returned to school following the first coronavirus lockdown. The couple, who also share their one-year-old son Rex, had been homeschooling Stacey’s children, who are both from previous relationships, before restrictions eased.

Joe revealed in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk that the change impacted the mum-of-three emotionally after she got used to having her older sons around during the day.

The I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! winner explained: “It definitely was [weird].

“We got used to our little life together and then it changed again. 

“I think we have to get used to things changing all the time, but it was sad for Stace.”

It comes after Stacey became tearful when her eldest children returned to school in September.

Dressed in their school uniform in the star’s social media snap, Leighton and Zachary grinned for the camera as they looked forward to their first day back.

Stacey wrote on Instagram: “I can feel they’re a bit nervous but I know they’ll be so happy once they’re in.”

The former X Factor contestant then shared a sweet montage of her time at home with her children.

“I hope you’re all OK. I can’t stop thinking about everyone in lockdown – people without friends, single parents… 

“I don’t know how you did it. You smashed it.”
