Joel Matip injury: Three defenders Liverpool could sign in January as star injured again

Gleison Bremer
The Torino centre-back was first linked with a move to Liverpool last month by Italian outlet Tuttosport. And there is likely to be some substance to that report.
Given Bremer is only 23 years old, he fits the first criteria of a Reds target: he’s a player with potential but first-team experience and can be moulded and improved by Klopp.
He also possesses good recovery pace, something which makes him suited to playing in the high line utilised by Liverpool, and has an expansive passing range.
What may be a mark against the Brazilian, however, is his aerial duel success rate during his time in Serie A is 58.6 per cent.
Liverpool, as mentioned above, have focused on signing aerially dominant centre-backs in recent years, largely to ensure their high line can’t be disrupted by powerful forwards.
But an asking price, per Football Italia, of around £9 million has been reported and that might be low enough for Liverpool to take a chance on Bremer come January.
