Jordan North: I'm A Celebrity star opens up on romance after 'awkward' first date blunder

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! 2020 star Jordan North, 30, has admitted he isn’t a romance expert and recently shook a love interest’s hand following their first date. The BBC Radio 1 DJ opened up about his blunder before he entered Gwrych Castle last month.

Jordan recalled: “I went on a first date about 18 months ago and I’m not good at these because I once shook my date’s hand at the end of the evening.

“I think you’re supposed to hug them or kiss them. It was awkward.

“You’re not supposed to shake hands are you really, it’s very British.

“Rule number one on a first date is don’t mention your ex, which I have done before. Don’t mention them on your first or even the second or third.”

In another episode of the podcast, Jordan shared his insecurities, which he discovered after breaking up with an ex.

The I’m A Celeb favourite said: “People have broken up with me but I’m thick skinned so it’s onwards and upwards. I don’t have a heart of stone but, you know.

“When I broke up with an ex I found out a lot about myself. I am very annoying and very needy and I wouldn’t have thought that.

“From my point of view, when it comes to breaking up, you should treat your relationship like a tax return.

“Always keep your receipts, because when you’re moving out you can be like, I paid for this DVD, I bought that from John Lewis,” he quipped.

“I was in tears, I was shaking, I had every intention of saying I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!,” the DJ went on to admit.

“Just the change in you after that Trial was incredible,” Shane said and Jordan replied: “I’m welling up now.”
