Jurgen Klopp has five Liverpool alternatives with Thiago a major doubt to face Man City

The Liverpool boss could stick with what has worked so well in the last two games with Curtis Jones impressing alongside Henderson and Wijnaldum.

Naby Keita has also returned to the fray after making an appearance off the bench against Atalanta last time out.

Klopp could well opt for more experience in midfield though by bringing in James Milner, although he’s yet to start in the league this season.

Xherdan Shaqiri looked on his way out of the club in the summer, but he’s now established himself as an option through the middle and impressed off the bench last week against West Ham.
