Kym Marsh details crush on Coronation Street co-star Simon Gregson

Kym Marsh, 44, who played Michelle Connor in Coronation Street for 13 years, has admitted she had a poster of her former Corrie on-screen boyfriend Simon Gregson, 46, on her wall as a teenager, as she found him “so handsome”. The ITV actress said it was “bizarre” as she of course never expected to be playing her teenage crush’s girlfriend in the hit soap in her career.

Kym confessed she found Simon to be “so gorgeous” after first a chance encounter at a young age.

The actress first glanced at the actor in real life after signing up to an independent record label in Manchester.

“I was about 14 or 15 and there was this big gig going on, Dannii Minogue was playing, and Chesney Hawkes, that’s how long ago it is,” she shared.

“And I couldn’t believe the McDonald twins from Corrie were there.”

Michelle became Steve’s fifth wife in the programme in 2015 after they got back together three years prior.

However their marriage was short-lived after Steve revealed he was the father to a son, Oliver, after a one-night stand with Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson).

Michelle and Steve had a son together, Ruairi, who didn’t survive after being born prematurely at 23 weeks.

The storyline was even more heartbreaking for Kym, as she lost her own newborn son Archie in 2009.
