Lewis Hamilton breaks silence after positive coronavirus test rules him out of Sakhir GP

Lewis Hamilton has confirmed he will miss this weekend’s Sakhir Grand Prix in Bahrain, as he begins a 10-day period of isolation after returning a positive COVID-19 test. The Mercedes star has confirmed he woke up with mild symptoms at the beginning of the week and therefore decided to undergo a retest.
It was confirmed this morning that test indeed came back positive and now the world champion has taken to Instagram to send a message to his F1 fans around the world.
It read: “Hi guys. I’m devastated that I won’t be racing this weekend.
“Since we started the season in June, my team and I have been taking all the precautions we possibly can and following the regulations everywhere we’ve been in order to stay safe.
“Unfortunately, even though I returned there negative results in this past week, I woke up yesterday morning with mild symptoms and requested another test which came back positive.
