Liverpool make Marcos Llorente transfer enquiry with 'many calls' fielded by agent
Liverpool have been linked with Marcos Llorente after the Atletico Madrid midfielder’s agent said he had fielded ‘many calls’ from the Premier League champions. Jurgen Klopp’s side are expected to strengthen in the January transfer window after being hit by a lengthy catalogue of injuries this season.
And Llorente has been on the Reds’ radar, according to reports from Spain.
The attacking midfielder, 25, scored twice as Atletico eliminated Liverpool from the Champions League in the round of 16 last season – and even named his dog ‘Anfield’ following his exploits at the Reds’ famous home.
Llorente, 25, joined Los Rojiblancos in the summer of 2019 and has become a key player for Diego Simeone’s side, having since been directly involved in 18 goals in his 53 appearances.
He can play as a second striker as well as an offensive midfielder.

Over the summer there was also speculation about the future of Gini Wijnaldum, with Barcelona boss Ronald Koeman believed to be keen on the Dutch midfielder.
Wijnaldum’s current Liverpool contract expires next summer, meaning he could leave for free at the end of this season and be reunited with his former Holland boss at the Nou Camp.

Llorente’s agent may then be expecting more calls from Liverpool if his nephew keeps up the form which has seen him score five goals and post three assists so far this season for Atletico.
