Lorraine Kelly ‘beyond chuffed’ after Joe Lycett’s gushing compliment
Lorraine Kelly, 60, was left over the moon after she was dubbed one of Joe Lycett’s “Dreamgirls” in the latest episode of The Great British Sewing Bee. The comedian gushed over the queen of daytime TV and she was ecstatic after the TV mention was pointed out to her on social media.
During the BBC show, which aired on Wednesday 2 June, Joe and judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young introduced the final challenge, Made to Measure.
In order to secure a place in the semi-finals, the sewers were required to make a Dreamgirls inspired garment, focused on the disco era.
After discussing what the task would entail, Joe added a little anecdote of his own at the end.
“If you’re interested, my dream girls are Ruth Langsford, Loraine Kelly and wee Jimmy Krankie [1980s Scottish comedy duo],” he grinned as the sewers giggled.

But the BBC show isn’t the only new programme Lorraine has made a splash on.
Celebrity Gogglebox is set to return this Friday 4 June, with a star-studded line-up that boasts the likes of The Masked Dancer’s Mo Gilligan, Love Island’s Laura Whitmore and Iain Stirling, former EastEnders actor Martin Kemp, and more.
Ahead of the reality show’s new episodes, Channel 4 took to social media to confirm that the telly star and her daughter Rosie will also be taking part, too.
“So looking forward to this – @Rosiekellysmith and I had such a laugh,” Lorraine added, sharing the tweet from her account.

A tweet by the official programme’s Twitter account read: “We’re very sorry to bring you the sad news that Holby City will come to an end in March next year, after 23 amazing years.
