Louise Minchin: BBC Breakfast host reacts after co-star suffers injury 'Both recuperating'

Louise Minchin, 52, made her much-awaited return to BBC Breakfast yesterday, after the presenter was forced to take time off from her hosting duties. It comes after the TV regular had to take an extended break following a foot operation.

The broadcaster is now back on viewers’ screens and has taken part in BBC radio presenter Nicki Bannerman’s Influential Women podcast.

Taking to Twitter, Louise explained how they both were recovering from different injuries.

In view of her 195,000 followers, the BBC host penned: “And I had a great chat with @NickiHBC who is also recuperating!”

Nicki took the opportunity to retweet the presenter’s message as he commented on the pair both being on crutches.

“Good morning, I am very glad to be back on #BBCBreakfast with my most elegant boot!” she wrote on the picture-sharing site, in view of her 65,800 followers.

In the snap, a smiling Louise sat with her leg on the table while pointing to her injury.

Dan appeared to be pretending that he also had a painful foot.

Fans flocked to comment on Louise being back on screens, as one person gushed: “Welcome back Louise! We’ve missed you!”

Over on his own Instagram account, Dan shared the same picture with his 154,000 followers.

“She’s back! The boot is on and I even made her a cup of tea,” he captioned the image.
