Man City boss Pep Guardiola confirms Sergio Aguero decision that is good news for Man Utd

Pep Guardiola has said Sergio Aguero will not be fit to start the Manchester derby as the striker continues to recover from injury. This despite Aguero making a goalscoring 25-minute cameo for City in their 3-0 Champions League win over Marseille.
After a comfortable victory at the Etihad, City now turn their attention to the Premier League this weekend.
The Citizens travel across town for a huge match against arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on Saturday evening.
When asked if Aguero is likely to make the starting eleven for the fixture, Guardiola simply replied: “No”.
Aguero underwent knee surgery in the summer keeping him on the sidelines for the start of the season.

Speaking afterwards, Guardiola praised Aguero’s finishing prowess and said the club will be keeping a close eye on his fitness.
“His instinct to score will always be there,” he added. “He’s had three or four training sessions and the reaction was good.
“He had 25 minutes and scored a goal. Step by step. Will see the reaction tomorrow.”
An own goal by Alvaro Gonzalez in the final minute rounded off the victory as City finished top of Group C.
With the competition not resuming until the new year, Guardiola and his team are gearing up for a busy festive period on the domestic front.
“Now it’s time to celebrate it and tomorrow I am going to think about the Premier League and the derby,” Guardiola added. “We have two days to think about it.”
City have seven matches in the league and the cups over the next 21 days, starting with the United match.
Guardiola’s side start the game one point behind their rivals and six points behind joint league leaders Tottenham and Liverpool.
Aguero, who has scored nine times in previous derby fixtures, will be a miss for the Blues but could still feature from the bench if passed fit.
