Man Utd star Victor Lindelof’s wife reveals ‘traumatic and scary’ robbery ordeal
Manchester United centre-back Victor Lindelof’s house was broken into on Wednesday evening whilst he played for the Red Devils in the 3-1 win at Brentford – with his wife Maja describing the upsetting ordeal in a statement on Instagram.
Lindelof played all 90 minutes in his 21st appearance of the season for United in all competitions.
Ralf Rangnick’s men ran out 3-1 winners in the capital against an aggrieved Brentford side, who were perhaps unfortunate not to come away with at least one point.
Yet whilst the game was going on, his wife Maja and two children were at home in the Manchester area, where thiefs broke into their house.
Managing to hide and lock themselves away in a room, the Swedish family remained unscathed in what was undoubtedly a terrifying experience.
And Maja took to social media to let fans know that they are unharmed after the incident.
“During Victor’s game this Wednesday night we had a break-in at our house in Manchester,” Maja posted on Instagram.
“I was home alone with both the kids but we managed to hide and lock ourselves in a room before they entered our house.
“We are okay under the circumstances but it was obviously a very traumatic and scary moment for both me and my little kids.
“We are now in Sweden and are spending some time off with our families.”
It caps off a dreadful winter period for Lindelof, who had heart problems in an away tie at Norwich, one of his children was admitted to hospital, and now a break-in has occured all within the space of a month.
United weighed in with their support for the defender after a torrid period.
“We can confirm that a break-in occurred at Victor Lindelof’s house during the away game against Brentford,” a United statement read.
“His family, who were at home at the time, were unhurt but clearly shaken. This was a distressing experience for them, and for Victor when he learned of it after the game, and the club is providing them with our full support.
“We encourage anyone with information about the crime to contact the police.”
Rangnick’s men currently lie seventh in the Premier League.
