Martin Roberts: Homes Under The Hammer host attacks 2020 sign with hammer and blowtorch

Fans are used to watching Martin Roberts, 56, curiously investigate property on Homes Under The Hammer, as he gives his verdict on their future potential. But now, he’s shown fans a very different side of him.
Taking to his YouTube channel, Martin wanted to demonstrate how he planned on celebrating the New Year by giving 2020 a proper send off, in a very fitting way.
With two lockdowns, a cancelled Christmas, businesses forced to close and a desperate nation on the brink of (if not already in) despair, the UK is still reeling from the coronavirus pandemic that has seen thousands of people lose their lives and families suffer as a whole.
It appeared there wasn’t a single person out there that wasn’t happy to see the back of 2020.
“I thought I’d try the DIY way to say goodbye and good riddance to 2020,” he told viewers of his Martin Roberts’ Property Titbits channel as he stood in his tool shed.

He held up a board that he had written ‘2020’ on as he spoke.
But he followed it up with a strict warning: “Do not try this at home!”
With a cheeky grin on his face, the camera suddenly switched to Martin hammering the board with, you guessed it, a hammer.
When that didn’t do the job, he switched to another tool that saw him cut jagged pieces off of the board.
Martin really pulled out the big guns with a blowtorch, but still the sign didn’t burn to a crisp.
He concluded the brutal showdown by breaking off one final piece of the board so it just read ’20’.
Out of breath, he said: “Here’s to a happy 2021,” as he flipped the remaining piece of board around to reveal this year’s digits.
“Happy New Year!” he signed off.
The video seemed to go down a hit with fans, who rushed to the comments section to applaud his comedic video.
“Hey Martin. I thought I was watching the Equalizer movie part 3 when I saw your anger and power tools. Keep going in the New Year,” one said.
Another noted: “That’s so what everyone else is feeling Martin. Happy New Year.”
“That’s 2020 under the Hammer, saw and more hammering. happy new year mate,” a third cheered.
A fourth giggled: “Ha ha that looked like something from a horror film lol happy new year.”(sic)
