Marvel’s Loki Episode 2 Recap
The second episode of Marvel’s Loki dives deep into the MCU concepts of Nexus events, resetting the timeline, and the Sacred Timeline. After spending some time with the Time Variance Authority, Loki found a loophole that can be exploited by the problematic Variant. This led to one of the funniest scenes in series so far, where Loki and Mobius visit Pompeii right before it was destroyed by a volcanic eruption in 79 AD. Using Loki’s latest discovery, the TVA track down the Loki Variant in Alabama.
Loki gets a chance to talk to the Variant. The Variant uses mysterious ways to communicate with Loki and Loki suggests they can team up to take down the TVA, but the Variant has different plans. The Variant sets up reset charges and sends them to various points in the timeline, creating multiple Nexus events simultaneously. This leads to the major reveal of the Loki Variant, who isn’t just a different version of Loki, but Lady Loki herself. As Lady Loki escapes through a portal, Loki decides to go with her.
