Matt Baker in family announcement as son, 12, lands TV job with his Countryfile host dad

Matt Baker, 43, has revealed he was beaming with pride after watching a recent Countryfile episode that his and wife Nicola Baker’s 12-year-old son Luke had filmed. The former The One Show presenter took to Instagram to gush about his son’s achievement in view of his 275,000 followers.

Luke got the opportunity to land the TV job alongside his dad when Matt filmed for BBC’s Countryfile from their family’s farm during lockdown.

Matt then gave Luke the job as the BBC programme’s cameraman for an episode which aired back in April.

The dad-of-two praised his son’s work at the time, writing: “Tonight my 12-year-old son films Countryfile.

“Proud dad, family businesss, stay home. See you at 7.”

Matt is also dad to daughter Molly, 10, who he shares with wife Nicola.

The family live in Hertfordshire and enjoy a busy life, as Matt works as a farmer alongside his successful TV career.

The star recently gave fans more of an insight into his family life when he filmed Our Farm in the Dales, which followed them as they moved to Matt’s parents’ farm.

The four-part series showed the family relocating to Matt’s childhood farm in Durham after his mum Janice suffered a serious injury to her leg and knee and required extra help.

He added: “It’s just it’s been amazing actually, it’s been quite remarkable from my perspective as well and it being the first show that we’ve ever made as my production company.

“To have that, you know, the most watched show ever on the channel – it’s incredible. Obviously, I feel like I’m living in a dream world with it, I really do.”

Elsewhere, Matt announced his latest project last week, as he revealed he has penned his first book, A Year On Our Farm – How the countryside made me.

“I’ve got an announcement to make,” Matt informed his fans in a video on Instagram.
