Max Verstappen crashes out of Sakhir Grand Prix in three-car incident

Max Verstappen crashed out of the Sakhir Grand Prix on the opening lap – but it was no fault of his own. The Red Bull star was forced off the track when Sergio Perez clipped Charles Leclerc.
Verstappen had to drive onto the gravel to avoid being hit but in doing so the 22-year-old parked his car into the barriers.
Alongside him lay Leclerc’s Ferrari, which was also pushed into the walls. The pair were engaged in a conversation as they stood waiting for their vehicles to be recovered.
Perez was able to remain on the track and he pitted for repairs as the virtual safety car was called out.
