Monty Don marks late mum's 100th birthday with unearthed photo of rarely seen twin sister

Monty Don, 60, sometimes shares little snippets of his personal life with fans online and recently he stunned his loyal following with an old photograph of his late mother Janet, carrying him and his twin sister, Alison. The post marked what would have been her 100th birthday as he celebrated her life following her death over 20-years ago.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “This is my mother holding my twin sister Alison and I on the day of our Christening, in October 1955.

“She died in 1989, but today would have been her 100th birthday.”

Shocked at how alike he and his mum looked, fans rushed to the comments section to share their thoughts.

“What a beautiful picture to share, you really look like your mum too, she must be so proud of all the joy you have spread,” one praised.
